Kilic Ali tells:
One day, in the first parliament, secularism was the subject. Gazi Mustafa Kemal Pasha was the chairman of the parliament that day. A citizen, one of the well-known religious scholars of the parliament, came to the podium. sarcastically:
”Friends, there is this secularism frenzy. Excuse me, I don’t understand the meaning of this secularism, what is this secularism?” As he began to speak, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who was in the presidency, could not stand it, slamming his hand on the podium from where he was sitting:
“It is about being a man, hodja. It is about being a man.”
